Being a sustainable farm and using sustainable products and ingredients is our values' core. We employ eco-friendly farming practices, from water conservation to composting to not using pesticides or chemicals, to ensure that we are as kind to the Earth as we are to your skin and the products you use in your home.
But our commitment to sustainability doesn't stop at the farm; it also extends to our products. We use environmentally friendly packaging made from recycled or biodegradable materials (we use Amber glass not because it looks great and helps to preserve our products but because it is the most virgin glass that you can use and can be recycled) so you can feel good about your purchase from start to finish.

Creating Hereward Farms products is a labour of love. Our team is involved in every step of the process, from planting the lavender to harvesting and formulating the final product. We believe in transparency, so we invite you to come and see what we have to offer and where all the magic happens.

The Lavender Fields
Our journey begins in the sprawling lavender fields of our 150-acre farm. Each lavender plant is nurtured from the tiny plug to bloom under the watchful eyes of our dedicated team. We use organic farming methods, avoiding synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, to ensure that all our lavender is as natural as it gets.
We have over 6,000 English and French lavender plants on our property and use every single plant. Whether we are using it in our products, for culinary use or dried lavender, you can take it home.
Harvesting with Care
When the lavender is in full bloom, usually mid-summer, it's time for harvesting. Our team hand harvests to ensure only the best quality lavender goes into our products. This hands-on approach allows us to maintain the integrity of the plant, capturing its full range of benefits.
In House Formulation
Once harvested, the lavender is brought to our in-house products facility, where the magic happens. We dry the lavender, and once that stage is complete, we use the lavender to begin our propriety formulation process. This is overseen by Julie, our Founder and CEO,and she meticulously measures and mixes the natural ingredients to create our range of skincare and home products.
Quality Testing
Before any product leaves our facility, it undergoes rigorous quality testing. We want to make sure that what you are getting is not just natural but also effective. Our quality assurance team tests for consistency, efficacy, and safety, ensuring that each product meets our high standards.
Environmentally-Friendly Packaging
Finally, each product is packaged in eco-friendly, either recycled or biodegradable materials. We believe that natural goodness should be delivered in a package that respects the Earth, aligning with our overall mission of sustainability. We use little to no plastics in our packaging. All our bottles are glass, and we use metal instead of plastic.
