Using Infused Lavender Skincare Products

When we first grew lavender and weren't sure what we would do with all this stuff, we dug deep into books and the never-ending world of Google. We wanted to bring something unique to the market, so we created a line of skincare products and had a unique way of transforming our lavender plant material into apothecary formulas.

Why Lavender infused oils

We love our infused lavender oils for their scent but also love that they have so many benefits, and we use them ourselves daily! We talk about this all the time - using the whole plant gives far more benefits than just using essential oils and double-dose benefits from the lavender and carrier oils we use. This also allows the herb's beneficial chemical compounds to be extracted/infused into the oil.

Herbal oil infusions are a great alternative to essential oils because they require much less plant material. Herbs such as lavender are potent enough for the scent to be extracted via an herbal infusion, and we get to use the whole plant rather than the bud itself.

In addition, after extensive research, only about a third of the lavender plant's properties are found in essential oil. In contrast, the infused oil captures all of the lavender plant's other properties, which gives infused oils a broader product line for the application.

And since our infused oils are less likely to cause reactions like essential oils, we created them. If a person is allergic to products containing essential oils, they have a vital oil sensitivity.

While infused oils will never have a strong scent (our original formula), we felt that adding other oils to the infusion enhanced our products' infused oils. This was after hearing from our customers that they wanted just a little bit more of a lavender scent.

Infused oils can be applied directly to the skin, or they can be added to skincare products to add soothing, healing, and moisturizing properties. It's beautiful for the skin and hair, and it does wonders for our senses as well. Oil is an excellent remedy for your skin problems, but you may not be aware of all of the benefits.

Hereward Farms Lavender Infusion

Hereward Farms in East Garafraxa combines whole lavender plant matter infused in three different types of oil for over eight weeks: sweet almond oil, sunflower oil, and grapeseed oil. Lavender essential oil is added when the infusions are complete (Canadian sourced). At this point, Hereward Farms is not involved in distilling their own essential oil.

Benefits of infused lavender in your skincare

I enjoy having lavender-infused oil around the house, especially in the summertime, when it can be used on bug bites, sunburned skin, and skin rashes.

To help with acne

Lavender oil is both an acne fighter and an acne healer. It helps in opening up clogged pores.

Once you've cleansed your face, apply it to the affected areas.

To keep skin not dry

You may notice itchy, scaly skin if you have dry skin. Lavender oil has anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties and can help with inflammation. Using it regularly will help you see an improvement in your skin's texture in no time.

To help with inflammation

Lavender oil reduces painful inflammation thanks to its magical powers. These oils relieve numbness and pain, soothe inflamed skin, and relieve itching.

This can be applied regularly and is a potent anti-inflammatory oil.

What I use it for

In the morning, I apply the Ravish to my entire body. Currently, I am using Sweet Almond Body Oil. This blows away any store-bought lotion, hands down. Ravish also includes Grapeseed oil because of its additional benefits. I'm never going to be able to tell you how many times this oil has been sold based on people feeling how my legs are so soft (haha). Honestly, though, this is the first year I did not have dry, scaly legs this past winter.

I use Lavish on my face every night. My current skincare routine includes the Lavish Serum + Sunflower oil. I use it after cleansing my face and toning it in the summer. To help with the brutal winter weather, I use a night cream, followed by serum.

Additionally, I apply Lavish to burns, cuts, rashes, and other skin ailments. My daughter uses Ravish on the bottoms of her feet to help her fall asleep.

My husband uses Angry Dad Beard Oil daily for his non-wife-approved beard (haha!)

We love creating these products for you and take great care in every formula we make.
